About This Competition

🔥 Trial by Fire CrossFit Competition🔥

Join us for our third annual event as we push our fitness to the next level with "Trial by Fire"! On April 18, 2026, prepare to push your limits, test your strength, and ignite your competitive fire. There will be 4 workouts that athletes will be tested on throughout the day. Workouts and heat times will be released leading up to the event.

Divisions: All are welcome to compete! Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're a seasoned athlete, we have divisions tailored to your skill level:

**spots are limited to 10 per division, per gender**

Workout 3 will also be released on January 28th!


4 workouts. 4 challenges to find the most capable and balanced athletes. 3 divisions from beginner to advanced.

 

Workouts will be released in this order

Workout 3 - January 29th on IG
Workout 2 - February 18th on IG
Floater - March 14th at our comp team Saturday from 9:30-12:30 and again on April 8th on IG
Workout 1 - March 18th on IG

 

On Saturday the 14th of March, join us for Trial Built CrossFit’s comp team Saturday. 3 hours from 9:30-12:30 where you get to test 2 of the 4 workouts and get familiar with the equipment. We will release the floater especially on this day for those that come out.

 

Reach out to James@trialbuiltcrossfit.com if you are interested in doing this. also show up to Trial Built CrossFit 10-15 minutes early so we can have you fill out paperwork. 


All drop in fees ($30 per person) on March 14th go to the prize purse.

Bottom to Top

Advanced
- Max cleans in 3 Min (145/205)
- 2 Min Rest
- Max S2OH in 3 Min (115/165)

 

Intermediate
- Max cleans in 3 Min (115/165)
- 2 Min Rest
- Max S2OH in 3 Min (95/135)

 

Beginner
- Max cleans in 3 Min (95/135)
- 2 Min Rest
- Max S2OH in 3 Min (75/105)

Farmers Carry for max load in 3 min.

 

- Athletes must pick up the weight, with both feet in line with each other and walk the weight forward.

- Both feet must start fully behind the start line and fully clear the 20 foot line on the other side in an unbroken attempt. No placing the weights down mid carry.

- Both feet must be side by side with full extension of the hips, spine and knees before placing weight down after crossing the finish line. 

- If weight is dropped at any point the rep does not count. Rep must be started again from either side of the line.

- Both hands must be on the handles as the weight is placed and not dropped on the ground in the finish position. 

- Weights are only allowed to be added by athlete. 

- Weight can only move up. If you fail a weight you may repeat or go heavier but you cannot go down in weight. 

 

At the finish of the 3 minutes of Pt1 athletes must move onto Pt2 of the floater. 

The 1 minute starts right after the farmers carry 3 minutes has completed. No break.

 

Advanced:

- Max Deficit HSPU (15/25) Bumper Plates in 1 min

 

Intermediate:

- Max HSPU in 1 min

- Atheltes may start at the bottom of the rep with head on the floor, you do not need to be at the top of the rep when you kick up to the wall.

- Butt may touch the wall at the bottom of the rep but not at the top. Only heals may touch the wall at the top of the rep.

- Spine and shoulders must be in line at the finish of the rep. Hips, shoulders, elbows and spine fully extended

- Open standard - 30-inch tape line 10 inches from the wall to the outside edge of the line.

- Some part of the hands must remain in contact with the tapeline throughout the entirety of the rep.

 

Beginner

- Max knee on 20" box 10" tape line HSPU

- Head must touch past the tape line. No part of head may touch this line.

- Head must be in line with spine at finish of the rep. Ears should be by athletes shoulders. 

- Hands do not have to touch the tape line.
