About the CrossFit Leaderboard

The KettleBoards CrossFit leaderboard ranks community-verified personal records across dozens of benchmark workouts. Unlike self-reported leaderboards, every PR on KettleBoards goes through a peer-verification process where other athletes vote on the validity of each submission. This community-driven approach creates a trustworthy, merit-based leaderboard.

Rankings are separated by gender and update in real time as new PRs are verified. Only each athlete's single best result per workout is counted — so improving your PR moves you up the leaderboard without adding duplicate entries. Athletes control their own privacy and can choose whether their name appears publicly on rankings.

The leaderboard covers strength benchmarks (back squat, deadlift, clean & jerk, snatch), classic conditioning WODs (Fran, Grace, Helen, Isabel), hero workouts (Murph, DT, Cindy), and gymnastics movements. New workouts are added regularly based on community demand.

Tracking your rank on the CrossFit leaderboard is one of the most direct ways to measure progress in functional fitness. Rather than comparing yourself only to athletes in your local gym, the KettleBoards leaderboard lets you see how your numbers stack up against the broader community — giving context to what "competitive" actually looks like for each benchmark. Use it to set realistic performance goals and identify the workouts where you have the most room to improve.

FAQ

How do I get on the CrossFit leaderboard?
Submit a PR for any benchmark workout on KettleBoards. Once your PR receives enough positive community votes to become "official," it's automatically ranked on the public leaderboard. Create a free account to get started.
What makes a CrossFit PR "official"?
A PR becomes official after receiving at least 3 community votes with a positive net score. Voters with more verified official PRs of their own have stronger vote weight, meaning experienced athletes' opinions count more.
Are there separate men's and women's rankings?
Yes. All rankings are fully separated by gender. You can browse men's or women's rankings for each workout independently.
How often is the leaderboard updated?
The leaderboard updates in real time. As soon as a PR earns official status through community voting, it's ranked immediately. Rankings are recalculated live on every page load.
What is a good Fran time?
Fran (21-15-9 thrusters at 95/65 lb and pull-ups) times vary widely by experience level. For men: sub-3 minutes is elite, 3–5 minutes is competitive, 5–8 minutes is solid, and under 10 minutes RX is a realistic first-year goal. For women: sub-4 minutes is elite, 4–6 minutes is competitive, 6–9 minutes is solid. Check the Fran rankings page on KettleBoards to see real community times.
What is a good Murph time?
Murph (1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run — with a 20 lb vest for men, 14 lb for women) is one of the most demanding CrossFit benchmarks. Sub-40 minutes for men and sub-50 minutes for women with a vest is considered competitive. Sub-60 minutes with vest is a strong goal for most athletes. Many athletes complete Murph without a vest before adding load.
How often should I test benchmark WODs?
Most coaches recommend testing key benchmarks every 8–12 weeks — enough time for meaningful adaptation to occur. Testing too frequently doesn't give your fitness time to develop; testing too infrequently means you miss progress checkpoints. Hero WODs like Murph are often tested once or twice per year due to their intensity.
Can I submit a scaled PR to the leaderboard?
PR submissions on KettleBoards use the RX standard listed for each workout. This ensures rankings reflect comparable performances. If you complete a workout with modifications, you can still track it personally, but it will not be ranked on the public RX leaderboard. Working toward RX on key benchmarks is a great training goal.
