Barbells & Bacon is back for its 13th year running & Its going to be one action packed, fun competition, THIS TIME two gyms are partnering the competition: CrossFit Blue Ash & The Tracks Fitness Lab.
Barbells & Bacon is a team competition with 4 members on each team. Teams of 2 Guys & 2 Girls will throw down in 3 workouts throughout the morning, testing each strength, stamina, & skill along with strategy & teamwork. This isn't a competition to be missed. Get your team ready!
Registration goes live October 18th. There are a limited number of spots, so don't hit the snooze button & miss out.
DIVISIONS: We will be running Scaled teams first starting at either 8am on December 7. Once the scaled division is over, the RX division will start. We run our competitions on time. As registration fills up and we know how many teams are in each division we will announce official start and end times. Each division is capped at 18 teams (6 lanes 3 heats per WOD).
Athlete Parking is located in front of the building away from the retail stores.
Refunds can be issued up until 2 weeks prior to the event (December 27th)
Substitutions & edits can be made at any time until the competition.

Workouts
Wall walks WOD 3
or Barbells+Bacon RX workout 1, with one M/F pair working at a time, both the male and female will work through 5 rounds of 12 box jump overs and 5-4-3-2-1 cleans. The working male & female will have their own barbell & box.
As the clean reps descend, the weight will increase.
The non-working pair may help switch out weight for the working pair.
There will be a 9-minute time cap for each pair, with one minute of transition between.
Scaled athletes may perform box step overs or box jump overs. The height of the box for both RX and scaled teams will be 24” for men and 20” for women.
Athletes may power or squat clean the bar, but must fully extend their hips after each rep.
If the male &/or female from each pair finishes, they may rest in the remainder of their 9 minutes.
If the male &/or female from each pair does not finish, they will stop at 9 minutes with their tie break time being their last completed set of BJOs.
RX male: 185/205/225/255/275
RX female: 125/140/155/170/185
Scaled male: 95/115/135/165/185
Scaled female: 75/85/95/105/125

For Barbells+Bacon RX workout 2, the team of 4 will complete a 100 calorie bike, 80 synchro OHS at 75# for men & 55# for women, 60 synchro TTB, 80 Synchro OHS, and a 100 calorie row.
While one M/F pair works through the chipper, the other M/F pair will be holding one 100# sandbag and one pair of 50# DBs.
Scaled athletes will hold a 50# sandbag and one pair of 35# DBs.
M/F pairs may trade places at any time, but the M/F pair working through the chipper must receive a verbal “GO” from their judge indicating that both the SB and DBs are up and in the appropriate holding position.
Sandbags must be held above the waist, but not on the shoulders. Dumbbells must be in the suitcase position. Neither the SB or DBs can rest on the thighs. Grips are not allowed to assist with the holds.
Synchro TTB must be completed with toes of the M/F pair touching the bar at the same time.
Scaled athletes will complete the workout with hanging knee raises, where the knee clears the height of the hip crease. Knees must reach above the waist at the same time.
Instead of OHS, scaled athletes will complete front squats using the same weight.
Synchro OHS & front squats will be counted with both athletes hitting below parallel at the same time.
There is a 21-minute time cap for this workout. If a team does not complete all the work within the time cap, their score will be the number of reps they’ve completed in the 21 minutes.
For Barbells+Bacon RX workout 2, the team of 4 will complete a 100 calorie bike, 80 synchro OHS at 75# for men & 55# for women, 60 synchro TTB, 80 Synchro OHS, and a 100 calorie row.
While one M/F pair works through the chipper, the other M/F pair will be holding one 100# sandbag and one pair of 50# DBs.

Partner 3 will complete 20 or 16 calories on the ski erg, 20 alternating DB snatches, and 10 bar muscle ups.
Partner 4 will complete 20 or 16 calories on the ski erg, 20 alternating DB snatches, 15 pull ups, 10 c2b pull ups, and 5 bar muscle ups.
Scaled athletes will complete jumping pull ups, jumping chest to bars, and regular pull ups.
If all of the work is completed in under 12 minutes, any two athletes will complete as many reps as possible of synchronized wall walks in the remaining time.
Athletes will perform the wall walks using the CrossFit Games 2025 standards. RX Athletes must have both hands on the tape line closest to the wall at the same time for the rep to count.
Scaled athletes will start their wall walks with hands in front of the tape line, with no part of the hand touching the line, move both hands behind the line, with no part of the hand touching the line, and return the hands to the starting position.
DB snatches must touch both heads of the dumbbell to the floor between reps and must finish each rep overhead, with arm fully extended.
RX DB: 70/50#
Scaled DB: 50/35#
If a team does not complete all the work within the time cap, their score will be the number of reps they’ve completed in the 12 minutes.
