Hero WODCHAD1000X — Workout Overview
1,000 weighted box step-ups
Navy SEAL Senior Chief Chad Wilkinson died by suicide on Oct. 29, 2018. When his family donated his brain to research post-mortem, it was discovered that after more than two decades of service, Wilkinson suffered multiple untreated and invisible combat-related injuries in the form of TBIs, blast-wave injuries, and PTSD.
The workout CHAD1000X is 1,000 step-ups for time, wearing a rucksack. It was a workout Chad created to train for a 23,000-foot climb in Argentina and that has taken the CrossFit community by storm due to the work and advocacy from The Step Up Foundation, a nonprofit created by Gold Star Spouse Sara Wilkinson.
Chad is survived by his spouse, Sara; daughter, Kinsley; son, Hudson; and countless other friends and family.
Scoring: Completion time; if time-capped, most reps wins
