Background

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew “Drew” Gunnison Cully, 35, of Ozark, Missouri, died on Sept. 17, 2025, when his MH-60M Black Hawk helicopter crashed during a training mission near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Drew was serving with C Company, 4th Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) — the legendary “Night Stalkers.”

Born May 12, 1990, in Springfield, Missouri, Drew graduated from Missouri State University, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 2013, and advanced to captain. He later achieved CW3, served as an instructor pilot, earned a master’s degree, and was selected for the elite 160th SOAR.

He is survived by his wife, Layne, and children, Lennox and Abbott.

Drew — Frequently Asked Questions

What are the RX standards for Drew?
RX standards are listed on the workout submission page. See the full details when submitting your PR.
What is a good Drew time for a beginner?
For beginners, finishing Drew at any time is a great starting point. As you build strength and conditioning, your times will naturally improve. The community median shown above gives a useful target once you have a base level of fitness. Don't compare yourself to elite athletes — track your personal improvement over time.
How is a Drew PR verified on KettleBoards?
After you submit your Drew PR, other KettleBoards athletes vote on whether it's legitimate. Each voter's influence is weighted by their own number of verified PRs. Once your PR earns at least 3 votes with a positive net score, it becomes "official" and is ranked on the public leaderboard.
Can I submit a scaled version of Drew?
PR submissions use the RX standard for each workout. The community voting process helps ensure submitted scores meet the RX standard. Scaled efforts are great for training but the leaderboard reflects RX performance.
