TSgt Wesley Kubie of Salina, Kansas, died June 8, 2021, in McPherson, Kansas, due to injuries sustained from a vehicle accident during military training at the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range.

A lifelong Kansan, Kubie, 30, was an Active Guard Reservist in the U.S. Air Force and was deployed to Afghanistan from 2019 to 2020. He was serving as a JTAC Instructor for the Kansas Air National Guard, assigned to the 284th Air Support Operations Squadron. He enjoyed fishing and golfing with his friends, and spending time with his wife and kids.

Kubie is survived by his wife, Abby; sons Jaxon and Wyatt; daughter, Kennedy; parents Bruce and Diana; and seven siblings.
