About This Competition

The Coastal Qualifier presented by Engineered Nutrition is the online qualifier for Fittest of the Coast.

The qualifier runs October 2 - October 29. There will be five workouts released over the four weeks. One workout will be a two-part workout with two scores. Workouts are released each Thursday at 7pm EST and scores must be submitted by the following Wednesday at 9pm EST.

In order to qualify for Fittest of the Coast, you must compete and earn a spot through the Coastal Qualifier. 

Athletes can compete in the qualifier as an individual and on a two-person team, but most register twice - once as an individual and once as a team. Athletes can earn a spot and compete as an individual and on a team at Fittest of the Coast if they choose. At the Championship Event, individuals compete Friday into Saturday afternoon. Teams compete Saturday afternoon into Sunday.

Teams do no need to complete workouts together. Team athletes will complete each qualifier workout as an individual and the team captain will submit both partners' scores. Team scores will be the sum of both partners' scores. For example, if the workout is Fran and Partner 1 completes the workout in 3:00, and Partner 2 completes the workout in 4:00, the team score will be 7:00.

The weekly qualifier workout will be the same for individual and team divisions. Each division will see a division-appropriate version of that week's workout.

Workout Release Schedule:
Workouts during the Coastal Qualifier will be released each Thursday at 7pm on YouTube. All times EST.

Week 1 – Thursday, October 2, 2025
Week 2 – Thursday, October 9, 2025
Week 3 – Thursday, October 16 2025
Week 4 – Thursday, October 23, 2025

Workout Submission Dates:
Week 1 – Wednesday, October 8 at 9pm EST
Week 2 – Wednesday, October 15 at 9pm EST
Week 3 – Wednesday, October 22 at 9pm EST
Week 4 – Wednesday, October 29 at 9pm EST

Workout Info:
Qualifier workouts are designed to be inclusive and division appropriate. Workouts are best compared to classic CrossFit Open workouts, with an emphasis on testing capacity more than high-skills and heavier loading. You will see a variety of skills, movements, loads and time domains tested. 

All workouts can be completed in a typical home gym set-up and can be incorporated into a daily gym class schedule.

What Your Are Competing For:
Spot to Fittest of the Coast - February 13-15, 2026 - Charleston, SC at the Charleston Convention Center & Coliseum.

Athletes will experience a professional event, featuring a beautifully designed competition floor like what you would see at the CrossFit Games or a semifinal event.

FOTC organization and communication are the gold standard among events, and athletes will never be left in the dark when it comes to event communication. Athletes will experience fun, yet challenging programming that is division appropriate.

The event takes place in the climate controlled halls of the Charleston Convention Center in historic Charleston, SC, and features a large vendor village and a separate hall for athletes to lounge in during the competition. Seating will be available for athletes and spectators around the competition floor.

Nearby hotels provide athletes the ability to walk to the Convention Center.

Individuals will compete Friday into Saturday afternoon. Two-person teams will compete Saturday afternoon into Sunday afternoon. All divisions will feature a minimum of five workout scores.

Qualifying athletes will receive welcome gifts, apparel, lane cards and more as part of their registration fees.

Charleston, South Carolina, has regularly been named the top U.S. city to visit, so be sure to plan to stop at some of the world-famous restaurants and breweries while at Fittest of the Coast!
