About This Competition

CHALLENGE AND SCORING
- Males and Females compete in two different divisions, $100 prize for top male and top female.
- Max hang from a pull-up bar. The athletes with the longest hang will win the challenge.
- Tie Breaker: Body Weight
- Heavier body weight wins
- Tie Breaker: Body Weight
- Note: Athletes may make as many attempts during their challenge as they would like.
Athletes must have their score accepted by a judge, if no judge is present a video submission will be required. For video submissions there can be no pauses or breaks in the video, video must show the clock for the duration of the hang. Video needs to be reviewed by a judge for submission.
Score will be submitted in MIN:SEC
DATES:
- Start date and time: Sunday November 2nd 2025 @12:00am
- Close date and time: Saturday November 15th @11:59pm
FLOW:
- The challenge begins with the athlete under the pull-up bar.
- When the athlete is ready, they will enter the hang position from any of the approved methods.
- Once the athlete has reached the approved hang position, the clock should start.
- The hang is over, and the clock should stop immediately when any one of the following occurs:
- Part of the athlete’s body touches the ground, uprights, walls, or supports around the bar.
- One or both hands fall off and below the bar.
- The athlete is no longer in the approved hang position.
MOVEMENT STANDARDS:
An approved hang will consist of the following body position:
- Athletes’ feet must be entirely and clearly off the floor. To get to the bar, athletes can:
- Jump up to the pull-up bar.
- Step off an item into the hang position (once in position item must be removed) Grab the bar and then lift the feet off the floor into the hang position.
- Have a person assist the competitor into the hang position.
- Both hands must be in the overhand grip position and on the bar at all times.
- Thumbs can be over or under the bar.
Adjusting your grip is allowed as long as neither hand falls below the bar. - Thumbs can change from over the bar to under the bar as long as the hands stay on the bar.
- Athletes must hang straight down from the bar "swinging" is not permitted.
- Thumbs can be over or under the bar.
- The hang begins and the timer should start as soon as the competitor is hanging from the bar with both hands in the correct position.
PERMITTED EQUIPMENT:
Gym Chalk
Shoes must be worn.
NOT PERMITTED EQUIPMENT:
Tacky of any kind
Hand Grips of any kind
Lifting straps, support straps, or any other kinds of straps
Braces of any kind
Gloves or any type of hand or forearm coverings
Tape of any kind on bar
Angled pull-up bar
