The William Louis Hart Foundation:

Words cannot adequately describe William Louis Hart or capture the essence and quality of the young man he was. He was honest, funny, loyal, and brave. Most of all, he was kind and generous to all he knew and was eager to help anyone who needed assistance. William was an incredible student and loved all subjects at school whether it was reading, art or geography. However, he was most passionate about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). He was interested in all things science and math and was eager to learn the “why and how” about everything. William had a bright future ahead of him and unlimited potential to make a difference in the lives of others and his community.

Unexpectedly and tragically, William was taken from us before his potential could fully blossom. But his legacy fittingly lives on to help others. As such, the William Louis Hart Foundation, a non-profit organization has been established with the purpose of awarding local students interested in STEM, and who financially would be unable to attend college, a scholarship covering the cost of their college education to any state school of their choice located in the state of Montana (or to cover college tuition up to the highest annual state tuition cost applied to a private college/university).

The William Louis Hart Foundation intends to make the first scholarship award during William’s graduation class year of 2027 for a Corvallis student who otherwise can’t afford a college education. We hope, in one way or another, William’s legacy of generosity and passion for education and STEM will continue to live on through others who plan to make their careers in a STEM related field.
