About This Competition

Welcome to Velite Performance's second annual competition, Velite Showdown: Rise of Champions 2026! The first phase of this competition is the online qualifier, and is open to scaled, intermediate, Rx, and Masters (35+) division athletes. Only the top 8 male & female individuals from the from each division will advance to the in-person competition on April 11th, 2026!

Three online qualifier workouts will be released on February 5th, 2026 and are DUE on February 13th, 2026 by 11:59PM CST.

Step into the arena of battle, where warriors clash and glory is earned. Choose your division and prepare to showcase your might before the roaring crowd. Join us on this awesome event, and see who will be the RISING CHAMPIONS! It's VELITE TIME!

Event 1: Gladiators Uprise

Part A: For Time

  • 21 Cal Row
  • 15 Thrusters (95 lbs/ 65 lbs)
  • 12 Burpee Over Bar
  • 15 Cal Row
  • 12 Thrusters
  • 9 Burpee Over Bar
  • 9 Cal Row
  • 9 Thrusters
  • 6 Burpee Over Bar

Time Cap: 8 minutes

Part B: Strength 

  • Establish a 1-Rep Max Thruster

Time Cap: 3 Minutes

Barbell Thruster Weights:

  • Rx: 95 lbs/ 65 lbs
  • Intermediate: 95 lbs / 65 lbs
  • Novice: 45 / 35 lbs

Workout Flow:

  • Athletes will begin seated on the rower. On "3..2..1..GO!", athletes will start Part A.
  • If Part A is completed within the time cap, the athlete will wait until the 8:00 mark to begin the 2-minute rest period.
  • Once the 2-minute rest is complete, the athlete will have 3 minutes to establish a 1-rep max thruster (Part B).

Total Workout Time: 13 minutes

Event 1: Gladiators Uprise

Part A: For Time

  • 21 Cal Row
  • 15 Thrusters (95 lbs/ 65 lbs)
  • 12 Burpee Over Bar
  • 15 Cal Row
  • 12 Thrusters
  • 9 Burpee Over Bar
  • 9 Cal Row
  • 9 Thrusters
  • 6 Burpee Over Bar

Time Cap: 8 minutes

Part B: Strength 

  • Establish a 1-Rep Max Thruster

Time Cap: 3 Minutes

Barbell Thruster Weights:

  • Rx: 95 lbs/ 65 lbs
  • Intermediate: 95 lbs / 65 lbs
  • Novice: 45 / 35 lbs

Workout Flow:

  • Athletes will begin seated on the rower. On "3..2..1..GO!", athletes will start Part A.
  • If Part A is completed within the time cap, the athlete will wait until the 8:00 mark to begin the 2-minute rest period.
  • Once the 2-minute rest is complete, the athlete will have 3 minutes to establish a 1-rep max thruster (Part B).

Total Workout Time: 13 minutes

Event 2: First Strike

3 Sets of AMRAP 4:

  • 20 Alternating Dumbbell Hang Snatches (1 x 50 lbs/ 35lbs)
  • 10 Shuttle Runs (25' forward & 25' back)
  • Max sets of unbroken gymnastics complex in remaining time

Rest 1:30 between sets

*Gymnastics Complex: 3 Toes to Bar + 2 Chest to Bar + 1 Muscle Up = 1 Rep

Dumbbell Weights & Movements:

Rx: As listed above.
Intermediate:

  • Dumbbell Weight: 1 x 50 lbs/ 35 lbs
  • Gymnastics Complex: 3 Toes to Bar + 2 Chest to Bar + 1 Muscle Up = 1 Rep
    • NOTE: Complex does NOT need to be completed unbroken.

Novice: 

  • Dumbbell Weight: 1 x 35 lbs/ 25 lbs
  • Gymnastics Complex: 4 Knee Raises + 2 Pull-Ups = 1 Rep
    • NOTE: Complex does NOT need to be completed unbroken.

Workout Flow:

  • Athletes start behind their dumbbell.
  • On "3..2..1..GO!", athletes will complete 3 sets of a 4-minute AMRAP (As many rounds/reps as possible).
  • After completing the snatches and shuttle runs, Rx athletes use the remaining time to perform as many sets of unbroken complexes as possible. Intermediate and novice athletes will use the remaining time to complete as many complexes as possible.
  • Rx athletes must complete the full complex UNBROKEN to be credited a repitition. 
  • Intermediate and Novice athletes are PERMITTED to break up their complex.
  • Rest 1:30 between sets.
  • Repeat for a total of 3 sets.
  • The tie break time will be the time stamp after completing the first set of 10 shuttle runs.

Event 3: Steel Heart

For Time:

  • 45 Deadlifts (155 lbs/ 105 lbs)
  • 100 Double Unders
  • 30 Hang Cleans (155 lbs/ 105 lbs)
  • 75 Double Unders 
  • 15 Shoulder to Overhead (155 lbs/ 105 lbs)
  • 50 Double Unders

Time Cap: 13 Minutes

Barbell Weights & Movements:

  • Rx: 155 lbs/ 105 lbs & Double Unders
  • Intermediate: 135 lbs/ 95 lbs & Double Unders
  • Novice: 95 lbs/ 55 lbs & Single Unders

Workout Flow: 

  • Athletes start behind their barbell.
  • On "3..2..1..GO!", athletes will complete the workout in the listed sequence above.
  • Athletes must complete each movement before advancing to the next.
