Workouts

HAND OFF

10 mile ruck, 1 person wearing ruck at a time.

LOADS:
F/F: 30 pounds
F/M: 40 pounds
M/M: 50 pounds

SCORE: Time.

FLOW: Both partners must step-off together from the same starting point and each conduct a 10 mile ruck. Time stops when the person who is wearing the ruck hits the 10 mile mark.

Partners can hand off the ruck and switch whenever they want. There is no minimum work requirement other than each having to conduct the 10 mile movement, but how you split up who carries the ruck for how long is up to you.

LOCK STEP

60 minute ruck @ 20% bodyweight, tethered

SCORE: Total Distance in meters (rounded to nearest SINGLE meter).

FLOW: Each partner will wear a ruck with 20% of their bodyweight. Partners will maintain positive control of a towel no longer than 6 feet for the duration of the ruck. If one partner drops or lets go of their end of the towel, teams must stop, regrip, and continue when both partners are holding onto the towel.

mad max

45 minuteS FOR MAX elevation, 1 PERSON RUCKING AT A TIME.

LOADS:
F/F: 10 pounds
F/M: 20 pounds
M/M: 30 pounds

SCORE: Total elevation in FEET (rounded up/down to nearest whole foot).

FLOW: Both partners must ascend and descend the same route, with only ONE partner working at a time. Partner 1 completes their ascend/descend, hands the phone (with Strava tracking effort) off to Partner 2, then Partner 2 conducts the same ascend/descend. No poles are authorized.

RUCK TOTAL

4 x 400M RUCK FOR total LOAD.

SCORE: Total Load in pounds, accumulated by each successful 400m effort.

TIME: Time limit for ALL attempts is 60 minutes.

FLOW: Each teammate must successfully complete a 400m at a given load for the attempt to account. The 400m attempt must be done "unbroken" meaning no weight can touch the ground or fall from the individual attempting the 400m. Teammate can only assist in the loading portion, prior to starting the 400m attempt. If one teammate does not complete their 400m attempt, the score is 0 for that attempt.

Example:
ATTEMPT 1: Partner 1 rucks 400m with 100# and Partner 2 rucks 400m with 100#. ATTEMPT 1 score is 100#. ATTEMPT 2: Partner 1 rucks 400m with 120# and Partner 2 does NOT complete 400m with 120#. ATTEMPT 2 score is 0.
ATTEMPT 3: Partner 1 rucks 400m with 110# and Partner 2 rucks 400m with 110#. ATTEMPT 3 score is 110#
ATTEMPT 4: Partner 1 rucks 400m with 115# and Partner 2 rucks 400m with 115#. ATTEMPT 4 score is 115#
RUCK TOTAL: 100+0+110+115=335 pounds.

EQUIPMENT RULES: External loading is authorized in the form of rucks, weight vests and sandbags only.

  • The external load must be able to rest on it's own and by NO MEANS be secured to the to ruck or the body of the individual by any lashing or tie not organically part of the ruck itself. Tension adjustment straps on the ruck may be used to secure the load to the outside of the ruck.

  • Any kind of weight can be used inside the ruck.

  • Individuals must confirm the weight can rest on their body/ruck on it's own by dropping arms to side at full extension.

  • Poles are not authorized nor is breaking to sit down or lean against an external support. This is a test of one's own strength and resolve, so must be completed without any external stabilization.
