About This Competition
Saturday 24th January 2026 – Masters Only. Fun Guaranteed.
This is a same-sex or mixed pairs competition for Masters athletes, with a combined team age requirement of 80+ (minimum age 35). Whether you're 35 or 65+, if you're ready to lift, laugh, and Throwdown to the soundtrack of your youth, this comp is for you.
Expect 3 age-appropriate, inclusive workouts — each themed to a different decade:
- 🕺 WOD 1 – 80s Anthems
- Tea & Biscuits ☕️🍪 break
- 💿 WOD 2 – 90s Nostalgia
- A proper lunch break
- 🔥 WOD 3 – 00s Bangers
Age Categories:
🏷️ 80+, 90+, 100+, 110+, 120+, 130+
(Age brackets are based on combined team age. Male-Male, Female-Female, or Mixed teams — it doesn’t matter.)

Workouts
Part A
7 minutes to establish a 5RM Deadlift
Team total = combined weight lifted
Rest 2 minutes
Part B
For time:
42 – 30 – 18
Deadlifts
Handstand Push-Ups
Athletes must choose their deadlift weight and HSPU variation before the workout begins.
Once Part B starts, weights and movements are locked.
There is a time cap of 7 minutes (420 seconds).
Score consists of Part A + Part B.
SCORING
Part A – Strength
Combined 5RM deadlift weight
Example:
– Athlete 1 = 120kg
– Athlete 2 = 100kg
– Part A score = 220kg
Part B – Conditioning
Deadlifts:
• Athletes only score reps for the weight they personally lift
• Each athlete’s deadlift reps are multiplied only by their own chosen weight
Example:
• Athlete 1: 40 deadlift reps @ 100kg = 4,000
• Athlete 2: 50 deadlift reps @ 30kg = 1,500
Deadlift score = 5,500
HSPU score:
• Chosen HSPU point value × 90 reps
Example:
• Kipping HSPU (3 points)
• 3 × 90 = 270
3 rounds
2-minute AMRAP
1-minute rest between rounds
Score accumulates across all 3 rounds.
In each 2-minute AMRAP, complete:
- 10 Core reps
- 15 Synchro Barbell Cleans
- 20 Wall Balls
There are no RX or Scaled divisions.
Athletes choose their core movement and barbell weight to suit their strengths.
Barbell weight must remain the same within each AMRAP but may be changed during the rest minute between rounds.
Core movement choice is locked for the entire workout.
Wall ball standards are set based on combined team age.
Score = total rep points across all rounds × combined barbell weight.
8 minute AMRAP
At any point during the workout, one athlete must be rowing for calories while the other athlete completes work on the floor. Athletes may swap roles whenever they choose.
Floor work consists of an ascending ladder.
2 Box Jumps
2 Power Snatches
4 Box Jumps
4 Power Snatches
6 Box Jumps
6 Power Snatches
8 Box Jumps
8 Power Snatches
10 Box Jumps
10 Power Snatches
And so on for the full 8 minutes.
Athletes may swap whenever they like.
Athletes must choose their barbell weight for the power snatch before the workout begins. Each athlete may use a different barbell weight.
Once the workout starts, barbell weights are locked.
