COMPETITION FORMAT:
Oly Total (Men/Women):
Classic Olympic Lifting Competition, Athletes will get three attempts to lift their maximum Snatch and three attempts to lift their maximum Clean & Jerk. Their highest attempt for each lift is combined to determine their total, and the athlete with the highest sinclair total in their division wins.
Weight Classes:
There are no weight classes; we will be using the Sinclair method to determine the winner.
Competition Scoring - The Sinclair Method:
- All athletes will have to weight prior to competition however there are no weight categories.
- We will be using the Sinclair method for scoring.
- Sinclair Total allows us to compare multiple people in different weight classes on the same playing field.
- Sinclair scores are used to compare lifters of different body weights more fairly. The score is obtained by multiplying the lifter's Snatch and Clean & Jerk total by a coefficient which is based on body weight.
- For more details about the Sinclair factor please click HERE
