About This Competition

Trees! Bring your Apples!!! Your favorite adult/child partner CrossFit competition is back at CrossFit Viral! This is an amazing opportunity to work alongside the next generation of CrossFitters, and let them experience the support our culture offers! The workouts are designed by our CrossFit Kids certified coaches, who prioritize safety above all else.

WODs will NOT be posted prior to the competition. Doors open at 8am for athlete registration. Athlete debrief will begin at 8:45am, where we will explain and demo each of the workouts to help everyone feel prepared. A dedicated warm-up area will be provided. First heat will begin at 9am.

Same as prior years...please consider bringing a toy donation for the Children's Hospital to our event. We will gather all donations during morning registration and deliver them to Children's Hospital on behalf of all event participants. Workouts

WOD 1: DYNAMIC DUO - 12 MIN AMRAP
The Big Apple Division (TBA), Apple of My Eye Division (AOME)
Men (M), Women (W)

Complete:
Adult: 10M /7W bike calories, 8 weighted box step-overs (20" box, 35#M/20#W)
Youth: 8 box-overs (20" box), 10 KBDL (10# AOME/35# TBA), 10 Shuttle Runs (down = 1, back = 2, etc…)
  
Standards for Bike Cals:   
Reset clock to 0 each round 


Standards for Box Step Overs:
Both feet must touch top of box
Do not need to reach full extension on top of the box
For Youth - hands cannot touch the box
For Adults - Can hold weight in any position so long as weight is not resting on legs during step up
 
Standards for KBDL:
KB must touch the floor between each rep
Full extension at top of lift
 
Standards for Shuttle Run:
Both feel past the line
One hand touches the ground behind the line
 
 
 

WOD 2: POWER PAIRS - 8 MIN AMRAP
The Big Apple Division (TBA), Apple of My Eye Division (AOME)
Men (M), Women (W)
 
Complete: 
Adult: 5 Clean & Jerks (95#M/65#W)
Pair: 5 Synchro Burpees
Youth: 10 Plate-to-Overhead (10# TBA/5# AOME), 10 Air Squats to Ball Target (10# TBA / 8# AOME)
Pair: 5 partner synch knee raises (adult can lift youth to bar)
 
Standards for Clean and Jerk:  
Weights must touch the floor between each rep
Weights must hit shoulders prior to ascending to top position
Finish with full leg extension and overhead arm extension before returning to start position
 
Standards for Burpees:  
Chest must touch the floor
Full extension with "credit card" jump and overhead clap
  
Standards for Plate to Overhead:  
Plate must touch ground between each rep
Finish with full leg extension and overhead arm extension before returning to start position


Standards for Air Squat:
Butt touches target
Full hip and knee extension occur at top

Standards for Knee Raises:
Feet behind the upright bars at the bottom
Knees lift to above the waist
 
 
 
 
 

WOD 3: THE FINISHER - FOR TIME
The Big Apple Division (TBA), Apple of My Eye Division (AOME)
Men (M), Women (W)
 
 
Complete:
FINISHER: 600m carry.  Can break up in multiple ways - youth must do half. 
Adult: 50#M / 35#W each hand farmer carry
Youth: 10# TBA / 6# AOME medball
 
 
Standards for Carry:  
Youth can hold ball in any way
