CrossFit Chimera Presents: The Chimera Throwdown

We’ve settled into our new home — now it’s time to throw down.
Join us at CrossFit Chimera for the Chimera Throwdown, a high-energy same-sex pairs competition that will push your limits and fire up your fitness. Whether you’re chasing the top spot in RX or coming to battle it out in Scaled, this is your day to throw down and show up.
🧨 Three workouts + a final for the top teams

🏆 Podium prizes for both RX and Scaled divisions
This competition is open to all levels, with two categories:

✅ Scaled – for those who want to compete hard and have a blast

12:00 CAP – Same-Sex Pairs
- 60 Synchro Wall Balls
- 50 Cal Row
- 40 Synchro Russian KB Swings
- 30 Toes-to-Bar / Knee Raises
- 20 Synchro Burpees Over Dumbbell
- 10 Man Makers

4 Teams Enter – 1 Team Wins

• Thrusters (40/30kg)
• Pull-Ups
Then:
• 21 Calorie Assault Bike (only 3 bikes available – athletes tag in/out)
🔹 Top 3 teams advance to Round 2

• Thrusters (55/40kg)
• Chest to Bar Pull-Ups
Then:
• 15 Calorie Assault Bike (2 bikes – tag in/out)
🔹 Top 2 teams advance to the final round

• Bar Muscle-Ups
Then:
• 9 Calorie Sprint on single Assault Bike

Same style – elimination knockout

• Dumbbell Hang Power Cleans (2x 22.5/15kg)
• Box Jump Over (24/20”)
Then:
• 21 Calorie Partner Bike (both athletes on bike, switching as needed)

Then:
• 15 Calorie Partner Bike
🔹 Top 2 advance

• Dumbbell Devil’s Press (2x 15/10kg)
• Burpee Box Jump Over (24/20”)
Then:
• 10m Sandbag Carry each (50/30kg) – athlete 1 tags athlete 2
🏁 First team across the line wins
WOD 2 – “Pick Your Poison” (12-min EMOM Ladder)
You’ll face 12 bars in a ladder format.
Each athlete gets 50 seconds to lift, followed by 10 seconds to rotate to the next weight.
Athletes may have multiple attempts per 50-second window.
Score is based on the highest point lift achieved:
Point System:
- Snatch = 4 points
- Clean & Jerk = 3 points
- Clean only = 2 points
- Deadlift only = 1 point
WOD 3 – “Rampage” (10-Min AMRAP)
Increasing ladder (by 2 reps per round) of:
- Sandbag to Shoulder
- 5m Sandbag Carry
- Sandbag Over Box
- 5m Sandbag Carry (back)
Start with 2 reps of each, then 4, 6, 8, etc., as far as you can go in 10 minutes.

- RX: 60/40kg sandbag
- Scaled: 50/30kg sandbag
