CrossFit Vertex Ergathlon 2025

 

Event Date: Saturday, 8/16/2025
Time:  8:00AM - 2:30PM-ish, heats to run every hour

We will have a leaderboard, but this is for fun!!

Details:

Get your Erg-on at the CrossFit Vertex Ergathlon!!
If you're doing the Long Division, expect to be working out about 3 - 3.5 hours. For the Short Division, 2 - 2.5 hours.

  • Format:  Three person teams, any gender combination (e.g. MMM, FFF, MMF, FFM, you get the idea) 
    • Each female team member does 85% of meterage. Run stays the same. See examples below.
  • Divisions: Long and Short
    • Regardless of team gender configuration, all Long Division teams compete against one another.
    • Regardless of team gender configuration, all Short Division teams compete against one another.
  • Events: Concept2 Row, Concept2 Bike, Concept2 Ski, and Run (in that order)
  • Cost:  Free ($20 drop in fee for non-members, non-members sign a waiver, 17 and under parent / legal guardians need to sign waiver during check-in)

We're capping at 18 teams. If you want to compete, get registered!!

 

Additional Details:

  • Workload:  Must complete one movement before moving onto the next. Athletes can segment the workload however they see fit. An athlete may completely sit out a movement. 
  • Scoring:  5 scores: row, bike, ski, run, and total. All movements scored in time. Movements are scored separately, lowest point total wins.
  • Waivers: All participants must have a waiver on file with CrossFit Vertex. If you don't, come early (the doors will be open). Teen athletes require a legal guardian to sign the waiver.
  • Athlete Check-in: ​​​​​​​Athletes must check in 30 minutes before their heat times.

FAQs:

1. Who should I contact for more information?
You can reach out to the competition team by emailing crossfitvertex@gmail.com, sending a personal message to the CrossFit Vertex Facebook Page, or posting questions on the official Facebook Event Page

2. Will athletes be alerted when workouts change? When will the workouts be finalized?
Yes, athletes will be alerted of workout changes via the Facebook Event Page. The workouts finalize on the day of the competition. Final workout hints will be distributed between now and the competition start date.

3. Is there a spectator fee?
There is no spectator fee. All spectators are welcome.

4. What should I bring?
Bring everything you'll need for the day, including fuel and something to sit on. We will have grab-n-go items available.

5. Where do we park?
Please utilize all parking lots in front of the CrossFit Vertex buildings.

6. May I bring my pet?
As much as we would like to allow pets, we must maintain a safe environment. Please leave pets at home. Service animals are always allowed.

7 Are children allowed?
Yes, children are allowed but they must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

8. Where will the athletes warm up and camp out?
We will open the CrossFit Vertex Annex Gym for warming up. The Main Gym perimeters will be used as an athlete hang out area. If the weather is nice, we will utilize the parking lot as well.
